AVS dB decibel
AVS dB decibel
The New Dimension in Comfort and PerformanceManufacturers of luxury
automobiles have proved a luxury car can perform like a sports car without compromising comfort. With the AVS dB Yokohama has proved this is also possible with tyres. The AVS dB is the most quiet high performance tyre you will experience on your vehicle.
AVS dB
"dB" (decibel) is the well-known unit for measuring noise levels. Adopted for YOKOHAMA's premium line, "AVS", this name indicates the ultimate product in a line of comfort tyres.
AVS dB promises a quiet cabin for drivers and passengers over the entire service life of the tyre.
Silence
"Gain quietness without compromising on performance" is also the slogan for drivers from YOKOHAMA's development team. Drivers of the YOKOHAMA AVS dB do not have to compromise their demands for first-class, dynamic performance to obtain superior driving comfort when switching from their original equipment tyres.
AVS dB decibel – Comfort and Performance
Noise Simulation Technology
The AVS dB decibel blocks out noise that traditionally comes with a high performance sports tyre. Yokohama perfected a fine balance of different tread block sizes to produce different noise frequencies, lessening road noise.
Silica Compound featuring Zeruma
Yokohama's patented silica compounding agent called "Zeruma" greatly increases the levels of silica blending in the process of designing a tyre's tread compound. Without this technology, the superb wet grip levels of AVS dB could not be achieved.
Tread Pattern Design
AVS dB has two types of tread pattern design, the V550 or V500, your choice depends on the tyre size and speed rating. The "Decibel Pattern" found in the AVS dB tread pattern combines the following design elements to create YOKOHAMA's quietest ultra-high performance tyre yet.
1) 5-pitch variation
Finely tuned, based on YOKOHAMA's latest simulation technologies and minimizes hammering noise, the key factor in noise generated by the tyre tread.
2) Small blocks
Well-calibrated to avoid uneven wear and aid the minimization of noises generated by tyre wear.
3) 4 straight wide grooves
These grooves maximize water drainage for outstanding resistance to aquaplaning at high speeds. In combination with the silica tread compound, featuring ZERUMA™, YOKOHAMA's original silica dispersal agent, this enables excellent wet performance.
